The Greater Kruger National Park encompasses a vast area bordering the park, where a host of companies and individuals own land. There are no fences between these private owners and the state-owned Kruger, hence the game can roam freely between the two, greatly increasing their natural habitat.
On these Private Reserves, guests can enjoy game drives on open safari vehicles operated by dedicated professionals, who are very keen to share their wealth of knowledge and experience with you. Game drives are typically conducted first thing in the morning and late afternoon leading into a night drive, where you get to experience the nocturnal creatures, easily picked out with spotlights.
Some lodges also offer walks with armed ranger, where you can get to experience tracking, photographing amazing birds and meet some of the smaller creatures in nature, all of whom play a vital role in conservation.
